culturecatalogue.com is back and has been moved to Flickr. The catalogue is a virtual curiosity cabinet of mundane objects found in America from the 40's - 90's. The catalogue is searchable with each image described by key words relating to its color, material or era's of use. Try doing a search on the color "red" or for the material "plastic" or just sort through by era like "60's" or "80's".

Analog Pac-Man
Recently I have been considering the relationship between 8-bit graphics and nature. Is there a connection?

In(n) & Out of Nowhere
On Friday March 2nd 2007, I was part of an 11 artist project. The idea was to give a motel room (or 2 in my case) to each artist for 24 hours. Our job was to create a site specific installation in the room that considered the context of the space (a motel room) and the cocept of Place. I created a piece titled "Perceived Existence". The above image is taken from the TV in room 367. The TV is showing the bed in room 366.

Mutant Pickle
It seems like I come across more mutant food now then I remember seeing as a kid. I am curious as to if this has anything to do with the release of genetically engineered food into the American public in the 90's or if it is just a coincidence.
